Avatar FanArt: Northern Water Tribe

It's time for my yearly fanart! This time I'm re-imagining a set of fan-arts I created for Avatar: The Last Airbender about 6 years ago now. It was also an opportunity to see my artistic development over the past 6 years or so. Crazy!

The canals of the Northern Water Tribe were the inspiration behind this image. alongside this, I wanted to celebrate the curves and fluidity of the bridges and using them to lead the eye towards the central water temple. I wanted to challenge myself to convey the coldness of the city without relying on the whites of the snow, and instead used the reflective nature of snow to grab the colours of the northern lights.
