BELOW THE SALT | 7 Birchmore Road

A small car hummed across a partially submerged road as the rain steadily pattered on a lonely
suburban street in the coastal english village of Haversworth. The car slowly rolled to a stop on
the drive of a house of moderate size. A lean man in disheveled clothing scrambled out of the
car and began fiddling with his keys, trying to quickly unlock the front door of the house. He
turned the handle and pushed the off-white door open, holding it while his wife and daughter
escape the rain.
